Since 2008, Aicomp has not only succeeded in rolling out new locations of the RKW Group in SAP, but also in using additional SAP standard functionalities in order to meet every maturity level and master future challenges together. The RKW Group is an independent, family-owned company and one of the world´s foremost manufacturers of excellent film solutions. RKW is the market leader in the areas of hygiene and agricultural films, films for the beverage industry and packaging for powdery goods. In addition, the company makes films and nonwovens for medical applications, for the chemical and converting industries as well as for the construction sector.
Customized films and nonwovens are specially developed for numerous applications in close cooperation with customers. Apart from aiming for optimum functionality, considerations such as protecting resources and recycling play an important role during product development.
The IT infrastructure of RKW Group is very complex. Until recently, it consisted of various solutions in different locations. This afforded a large support for the diverse solution range. For this reason, Aicomp was asked to help install a kernel solution to ensure a group-wide IT landscape using SAP ERP.
RKW is now able to define all kinds of products seamlessly in SAP using VCPowerPack Classic for Hygiene, Industrial Packaging, Technical and Agriculture Film.
The first SAP implementation at RKW started in 2008. Even before 2008, Aicomp created a prototype and approved its functionality in several locations together with RKW experts. By now, all German locations are running successfully on a centralized SAP solution. Further international rollouts are in progress. Thanks to Aicomp’s provided solutions and consulting expertise RKW is able to ensure compliance with local legal requirements in a more efficient way.
Together with Aicomp we have been able to adapt standard SAP solution to our special product configuration needs for flexible packaging and finally using it as kernel solution for all our plants. It guarantees us a solid and stable IT landscape and the usage of SAP Business Warehouse to manage our business.
